Wash arame and strain in a colander. If necessary, to avoid strong taste, soak for 10 min. and drain liquid. Brush sesame oil on bottom of pan and sauté onions for 2-3 min. Place arame on top of onions. Add water and apple juice to cover onions. Bring to a boil, add tamari and simmer for 30 min. While arame is simmering wash, rinse and roast sunflower seeds in a skillet until golden brown. Add brown rice syrup to arame and simmer again for 10-15 min.
